Arup The SSE Hydro Hero

Arup

Arup is an independent firm of designers, planners, engineers, consultants and technical specialists offering a broad range of professional place shaping consultancy services.

Leading the SCAPE SCOTLAND Consultancy | Place Shaping framework, Arup is dedicated to delivering value and opportunity for public authorities and communities across Scotland through technical excellence, efficient organisation and personalised service.

Arup in Scotland has grown steadily since its inception in 1960. From our two offices in Glasgow and Edinburgh, we provide a full consultancy service in relation to place shaping and the built environment. This includes the fields of structural and civil engineering, multidisciplinary building engineering (structural, mechanical, electrical and public health) geotechnics, water engineering, transportation and environmental studies. These principle areas are supported by a wide range of inhouse specialists covering risk and resilience, asset management, climate action strategies and digital transformation.

Offering a unique range of experience to the framework, our teams are committed to, and have an unrivalled record of, providing added value and social value to communities, and delivering efficient, innovative solutions to clients across Scotland.

The pandemic has had a dramatic impact on communities this year, but it has also highlighted that the connection between people and place matters more than ever. Maximising our community assets and reinventing our public spaces through creative placemaking will play a key role towards both Covid and climate recovery. This is why we are looking forward to working with the local authorities through the SCAPE SCOTLAND Consultancy | Place Shaping framework to help them successfully deliver projects that will bring real benefit to their communities.”
