The challenge

We are committed to supporting Scotland's transition to a low carbon economy and positively impacting on meeting climate change targets. As we are now in a climate emergency, and some clients having set goals of reaching net-zero carbon emissions locally by 2030 or sooner, these Councils will each have their own plans for achieving carbon reduction which we can assist with.

Our solution

We will continue to work with our partners in driving change by focusing on areas where we can make a real difference. During 2021, the Scottish Government’s Energy Efficient Scotland Programme is forecast to see £10-12bn of investment in Scotland’s buildings over the next 20 years. This includes effective delivery of energy efficiency measures and projects across all building types - domestic, public, commercial and industrial.

The further development of the Non-Domestic Energy Efficiency Framework will enable public sector and third sector bodies to lead by example in delivering energy efficiency retrofit projects across their built estate - securing both significant reductions in carbon emissions and energy savings. By working with our delivery partners, we will develop a good understanding of the EESP and how SCAPE Scotland can support the delivery. Our work generates both cost and carbon saving and improves the quality of our clients’ estates.
